Activities

NISNP also conducts outreach and organizes events that promote the mission of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. Recent events have included workshops on implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1540 in:

• Kyrgyzstan on October 16-17, 2007, with support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
• Central Asia and the Caucasus, conducted in Almaty, Kazakhstan on October 9-10, 2006, with support of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry and the MacArthur Foundation.

NISNP staff members also lecture on nonproliferation issues at the following:

• Polar Lights Student Conference, conducted annually by the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI) and Rosatom.
• International Summer School on Global Security, conducted annually by the Center for Policy Studies in Russia (PIR Center).
• Tomsk Polytechnic University
