About the Inventory

The Inventory of International Nonproliferation Organizations and Regimes uses a broad definition of international organizations, treaties, and agreements relevant to weapons of mass destruction disarmament and nonproliferation activities. As such it includes formal organizations, non-charter regimes, multilateral groupings of states, international treaties, and regional and bilateral arrangements. It also includes international treaties related to terrorism as well as treaties and agreements designed to prevent the spread of conventional weapons. Specific references to the verification and compliance provisions of relevant organizations and treaties are also included. Texts of selected treaties and other important documents are also provided and other appendices show the membership and status of organizations, treaties and agreements. Profiles of selected States showing membership of international organizations, treaties and agreements are also included.

All entries are updated regularly. A wide variety of sources were utilized in compiling the information presented in the Inventory. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of all the information included, the International Organizations and Nonproliferation Program (IONP) at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions. In cases where such errors occurred, correct information should be forwarded to the IONP soon as possible. Further updates will be reflected under [View updates]
