Masako TokiProject Manager & Research Associate, Nonproliferation Education Program
Masako Toki is a Project Manager and Research Associate in the Nonproliferation Education Program at CNS. Her responsibility includes managing the Critical Issues Forum (CIF), nonproliferation education program for high school students and teachers in the United States and Russia. She develops online educational resources, including the NPT tutorial. Her research interests include strengthening international disarmament and nonproliferation regimes, disarmament and nonproliferation education, and Japan's nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament policy. She has taught the Japanese section of the Monterey Model Course "Current Issues in Nonproliferation" as a content expert. She received her M.A. in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with a Certificate in Nonproliferation Studies in 2000. She was selected as an intern for the Office of External Relations and Policy Coordination at the International Atomic Energy Agency (January through June 2001.) Before she started working at CNS in May 2002, she was a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow at the Union of Concerned Scientists in Washington, DC where she conducted her research on National Missile Defense.
